Small Steps, Big Changes for Preschool Inclusion invites teachers to reimagine and transform how we support children with and without disabilities to learn together. Usable with any existing curriculum, this guidebook provides teachers with practical suggestions to include children with disabilities in early childhood education settings.

Teachers will learn how to:

  • Support children with diverse needs and learning paces to learn meaningfully in schools.
  • Address challenging behaviours through a compassionate lens.
  • Foster respectful interactions between children with and without disabilities.
  • Collaborate effectively within the preschool community and beyond.
  • Prepare children with disabilities and their families for the transition to a new learning environment.

Through reflective exercises and learning activities, teachers will also be guided to recognise existing good practices and identify ways in which they can make small changes for inclusion in their classrooms.
