National Conferences

The NECIC organises the biennial National Early Childhood Intervention Conference, rotating among different states nationwide. Starting from Penang in 2006, subsequent conferences were held in Sabah (2008), Melaka (2010), Sibu (2012), Ipoh (2014), Kuala Lumpur (2016), Batu Pahat (2018), and most recently in Miri (2022).

These conferences, spanning 18 years, have significantly impacted early childhood intervention for children with disabilities and developmental delays in Malaysia.

The NECI Conference’s goals include transferring skills to participants by sharing updated knowledge and practices in the education, care, and development of children with disabilities and developmental delays through sessions led by international and local experts.

Additionally, the conference serves as a platform to discuss, advocate for, monitor, and review policies and practices related to early childhood intervention. The national conference also provides networking opportunities for parents, families, and professionals from Malaysia and abroad, including educators, therapists, doctors, nurses, psychologists, and social workers.
