INVITATION: The National Early Childhood Intervention Council (NECIC) invites you to participate in its 7th national conference.
WHO ARE WE? The NECIC is a coalition of parents, practitioners and professionals from NGOs and government agencies involved in advocacy with policy makers for early childhood intervention as a Right. We are keen to enhance the learning and development of children with special needs, increase support to families and ensure family centred practices and inclusion at all levels.
FOCUS - This year focus in on the Child, Family & Community
||We hope to discuss and share on how to meet children's needs and empower children / young persons with special needs. Some skills workshops for parents & practitioners will also be conducted.
||We will share on how families can move forward, overcome challenges, getting organized and support other families. The role and involvement of professionals will be discussed.
||At this conference we hope to look at the big picture of how to engage and mobilise our local communities to support children with special needs and their families.
||There will continue to be a focus on action for inclusive education with skills workshops on preparing families, children and teachers for inclusive education.
||We will have a formal dialogue session with national policy makers from different government agencies to listen to plans and advocate for change.
