The Key Worker Online Course is a dynamic, in-depth online learning experience on the Key Worker/ family liaison part of the Early Childhood Intervention professional’s role. The course is suitable for Early Childhood Intervention professionals from Australia or overseas who may have a lot experience or very little.   What are the learning outcomes? The aim in undertaking this course is to:- Increase your knowledge of the research underpinning support for families in Early Childhood Intervention Enhance your understanding of family experiences of raising a child with a disability Expand or enhance the range of strategies available to you in your work with families Expand your network of professional support and enable the broader sharing of skills and knowledge across the sector Develop your reflective practice.   How long will it take? The course will take about an hour a week of your time and will go for a period of 18 weeks. If you enrol now you will begin the course on August 5th 2013 and finish up by December 8th 2013.   Resources Participants will receive a copy of The Key Worker: Resources for Early Childhood Intervention Professionals (Alexander and Forster 2012) which includes a DVD. All other reading materials are provided online within the course.   Development This course was developed using the model of adult learning described by Dunst and Trivette, the Participatory Adult Learning Strategy(PALS) model, (2009). The course has been trialled extensively with 3 groups of early childhood intervention professionals.
