Often, we faced with the various demand of life - family, marriage, work, financial stability, etc, in addition to caring for your child with special needs, it is not easy to maintain and nurture family relationship. Among all these, the needs of siblings are often overlooked.
This year, we are honoured to have invited Professor Hu Hsiu-Shuuo from Taiwan Shu-Te University to lead and facilitate the "Voice out for Love" series of workshops for siblings and parents of children with special needs. Through the Sibling Camp and Parents Workshop, siblings and parents will benefit from the intimate and supportive facilitation, to help you and your child to understand and reflect upon self-concept, as well as family dynamics and relationships, and consequently help your family building a more supportive relationship.

"Voice out for Love" Sibling Camp
Date: 30 June 2017 (9am - 5pm) & 1 July 2017 (9am - 1pm)
Venue: The Kiwanis Club of Bandaraya Ipoh
During the 11/2-day Sibling Camp, your child without special needs will be interacting with other children with similar background in a safe and nurturing environment. Through activities like talks, group discussion, film-watching, and skit performance, your child will be able to understand more about him/herself, learn to express his/her inner thoughts, reflect on family relationships, etc. Thus, helping him/her to build healthy self-concept and develop interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
Participation is limited to 35 siblings of children with special needs. Participant's age is from 7 to 12.

Inclusive Education Teachers Workshop
Topic: Better Together - Inclusion for Mutual Success

This workshop is for teachers, practitioners and parents.
To create greater understanding on the concept and implementation of inclusive education, Professor Hu will talk about importance and benefits of inclusive education. She will also talk about how children with special needs can thrive together wth their typically developing peers, to learn together, interact with each other, and strive for success together.
